Hey guys I've just picked up my first CA units in the form of the beautiful Anatematic and Noctifier with spitfire. I basicly bought these 2 because they're my favourite models in the range, it was a very tough fight between the Sphinx and Anatematic though.

Now the main point of this post is this, I love the Anatematic, Noctifiers, Sphinx, Yaogats and the Skiavoros. Now what i wanted to know is how good are these units in general and which would you include in your lists? Also if anyone has any example lists using these or any tips to a new CA player i'd appreciate it

Very good and all worth including, though not at the same time.
- The Anathematic is the best and most expensive HI in the game (yes, Achilles, Sepsitor, can we get on with it?), it's basically there to have a hard-hitting TO LT that you can risk freely thanks to G: Mnemonica (no Loss of LT at all).
- Skiavoro is the same cut down to the command model - you only have Mimetism, but still got the plasma rifle, Sepsitor (if needed), and a Strategos 2 so you can take another main offensive unit. I don't have a clear niche for this guy, I'm still learning to use him.
- Sphinx, aka "Why is this thing sitting on a tree and pouring napalm onto my knights!?" - a delivery system for 2 HFTs. Can do extreme damage (especially with its -6 to hit), provided you keep it from MSV2+/EM/Fire/Mono units.
- Yaogats - the main Morat unit. If you run Morats, you buy Yaos. That's like a fact of life. Run them either single as MSV2 support, or as a link (that's when they become really nasty). A link of Yaos has options for all ranges - combis for short, spitfire for medium, and sniper/Panzerfausts for long. They go really well with smoke grenades from Daturazi or Oznats. A simple & evil 200 pt list is 3x Yaos w/ combi/PF (one is LT), Yao spitfire, Yao sniper, 2x Daturazi chain.
- Noctifer - quite cheap TO Dogged unit with spitfire. Good offensive fun. If you don't like the spitfire, make him a relatively cheap hacker with -3 BTS.

Thanks alot mate, i wasnt aware of the G:Mnemonica rules which makes the list i cooked up last night better as the anathematic was my lt in it

What are your opinions of the Zerats? I bought the multisniper model of that unit today as i find that a really sweet model too

Morat infiltrator, no more, no less. I'd prefer something Shasvastii in a vanilla list, but they have their use in MAF. Watch out for that sniper barrel, it tends to break off

Well i picked up the Yaogat boxset today along with the sniper and was going to get 2 daturazi aswell but sadly my lgs had none in stock so i got 2 Raysats instead ( combi and spitfire ) as i love the look of those models too and can always proxy them as Daturazi

Definitely need to make some visors for the helmetless Yao's though.

Anathematic is great, but slow. He's super tough and sneaky though, which you can use to get enemies to come to him.

There are no downsides to the Spitfire Noctifier, closest thing to it is that he has PH 10 (The Horror)! My favourite uses for him are as reserve cavalry and/or as a decoy for an Anathematic Lieutenant.

The Sphinx is more or less what you think it is. It's faster, sneakier and generally more evil than your regular TAG but isn't something you want to use as a defensive turret. If you do go on a rampage with it be careful not to open yourself up to too many AROs, I've seen it get neutered by a random Flash Pulse shot while flaming the hell into someone on the far side of the table.

Yoagats (aka visor bastards) are a solid choice in Morat Sectorial or Combined Army. The only load-out I find a bit lacklustre is the sniper rifle one, he's a threatening ARO with a visor but the panzerfaust versions can do that to an extent with a much more friendly price-tag.

The Skiavoros is kind of the Evil Genius of the EI constructs. He's close to as effective on the offense but a bit squishier with Strategos and a reduced points cost let the rest of your army really shine. Initially I didn't see much point in the Sepsitor version since I thought his main attraction was the low price, turn out having the most effective defensive weapon in the game on your Lieutenant is kind of deadly.

I always thought of it as swearing for Americans, but I guess in New York City you don't give a shit.

In New York we use fuck off as short had for things like "Good Morning".
