Just the irony of disliking noise at the same time than creating it. OTOH, yes, yours is just a text, not an image banner, different levels of noise.

I'm not a fan of large banners, but don't want to be forced into an all or nothing by turning off all banners when most signatures are fine. If CB is going to provide the banners for ITS, which are pretty much meant for forum signatures, than I think restricting the size to just large enough to accommodate those and no bigger would be fine with me.

I'm not sure if the forum software would allow it here, but other forums I've been on give the option to show a signature or not with each post, so you wouldn't need to show your signature 5 times on one page.

I really liked the banners. When i first came by the official forum they were a real eye candy. And now that I have finally sat down an created my own the will be gone? :/

I honestly really miss them. While I totally agree that half page ones are excessive (mine is way too huge on the Infinity forums and was meant to be changed but now I'm not bothering), banners have always been what gave the Infinity forums character. Would love to see the same sort of character on DS, within reasonable limits obviously.

That sounds awesome. Nice to know you guys are this responsive to feedback...

I kinda of hope the old ITS banners return some how; I always had great fun adding more sectoral badges to them as each season progressed and it was really cool to see what factions people were reping at a glance!

You can still grab that img banner from the ITS website. If we allowed banners here, you'd be able to use it in an img tag.

Well and then there were those out there who used banner sized (read: Small) pictures as buttons for links... Which is pretty nice and gives the forum a personal and warm touch imo.

+1 for a single limited size banner (but big enough to allow for the ITS banners)

Is it possible to implement "split signatures"? By which I mean: a part of the signature for banners, another part for text and links. Both of which should be possible to swich on/off independently.

As others, I am not a fan of banners/pics in signatures at all. But often people provide other information that I find to be useful - links to project logs or certain articles, announcements of different sorts, these things. I would love to have one or the other. I really don't know whether it is even possible from a technical point of view though.

Like others said a option for turning of pictures would be great. Like splitting links and real banners. If people like them they can have them, if not they don't show.

I don't mind, if they start to annoy me I will turn all of them off, but sometimes the little info can be useful.

Even if you have signatures turned off you can still see them in their owners' profiles. Especially useful for the "see my signature link for more info" people. It annoys me very much that the official forum does not have this feature.
