Mercs?

Anyone here played Mercs? I'm very curious about a game where each side has about 5 models a piece, something cheap and potentially fun to play with my two boys. I'll be honest though, the card measuring is a turn off.

How does the "list building" actually work, is there a point system or do you just take the 5 models that are available for your faction?

Some guys in my local community tried MERCS and after 4-5 games judged it lacked depth. They dropped it in favour of INFINITY.

Dreadball is a fun game and a good way to introduce boys to strategic miniature play. I like the fact that it has everything in one box (75$US)... and is cheaper than MERCS (book+2starters=160$US).
Replay value is high.

i've played a game of mercs, very simple game compared to skirmish games, and very very fast paced game play. It was apparently designed by an on tour US solider who wanted a quick portable 2d skirmish wargame and he could carry with thim whilst touring

there is no list building per say, each faction has (come the end of the year), 8 possible unit types and you may only take 5 for a game (with no double ups)
