Noises in the Forge

Lately I have been making some custom laser-cut terrain with a system of interchangeable wall inserts. Was going for a industrial lab/plant/factory look. Just wanted to share the results and the table set up for the first N3 game at home seemed suitable. Hope you guys enjoy.

Holy shit.
Where do you live? Do you have room in your garage? I'm going to live there from now on.

That thing would only need some scatter, scaffolding and catwalks. I'm thinking Evangelion hangar style. Any plans for such?

Definitely a cool idea, but execution of it... that's truly great :)

Very clever use of the wall inserts. Bay door to person-sized door almost instantly. They look really great.

I can't exactly tell from the photos - there are no 'connectors' between buildings, correct (i.e., there are no slots/tabs, etc.)? You've just placed the buildings like that, yes?

Man this is almost exactly what I had intended on doing with Foam Core but soo much better.

Hope you intend on marketing it in the future.

Great work!

You could do an entire table as an industrial complex and control LoS and movement with creative use of your wall inserts. Very creative.

Thanks Everyone for your appreciation!

@Icchan: Working now on a ITS compatible Operations room. Next for sure will be making some catwalks and stairs to make multi-leveled buildings.

@H1ghalander: Yes, there are no 'connectors' between buildings. The rooms-modules are freestanding. Half length walls are freestanding also and are used to divide the modules or to stand in between modules and form corridors.

@ VisOne @ dulydude: Already starting to market. For more info you can check my blog, link is in the signature.

@shoon: You got the idea very clearly! We can also remove/add/change some wall inserts within the flow of the game, e.g. after successful D-charge blow, switching on/off security consoles, etc. And the new N3 terrain rules are perfect for this.

Right then heres your first question about the information in your shop.

You do intend on ONLY selling them constructed and already painted?

I love that just really curious because its not the standard.

However is it also whats driving the price per item up to 60 euros? Because that's a significant amount of money per a single item almost 2 or 3 times higher than the average price for like items from other suppliers.

@VisOne: in order to keep the conversation noncommercial I've answered your questions by PM.

Am i mistaken in believing that it isn't necessary to take this to PMs here, as this is not the official forums where there are strict rules about commercial stuff, and that here there aren't?

Call me strict and rigid, but IMHO this is not the commercial part of the forum, and therefore not the right part to discuss business.

At the moment, we're in "Terrain & tools", which, as I see it, is dedicated to noncommercial projects - either individual forum users presenting their own designs, or their use of terrain produced by someone else.

I see nothing wrong in presenting one's commecial offer (regarding terrain or other stuff, provided it is somehow relevant for the game we play) on this forum. However, I belive it should be kept to the proper part of the forum, which in that case would be Commercial: Retailers & Manufacturers. If Forgenoiser wishes so, this topic can be moved there, and everything would be in the right place, I belive: terrain makers are more than welcome on the Data Sphere, and this includes companies who make all that gorgeous stuff we put on the boards.

But to keep things neat & tidy, let's keep business talk to the Commercial section, and use Terrain & Tools for fan-made stuff :)

As I've already mentioned to the moderation team elsewhere Errhile and I are very much in agreeance here.

As it stands this thread is within the guidelines of what we want the terrain and tools section to accomodate. However further discussion on saleable items will go into a new thread in Retailers & Manufacturers assuming Forgenoiser want to continue to promote this fine line of products.

FYI our little PM discussions there had nothing to do with price and only reinforced what he has already said that its a prepainted, premade line and will continue to be so.

Great looking table hope Forgenoiser decides to promote and develop it further.

The Holidays is a challenging time of cheer and herring for every wargamer.
It get's a little easier when mother-in-law's dinning table turns into a warzone.

Quickly the Christmas spirit was splattered all over the walls of the macro-complex.

I thought the M-i-L's dining table was always a war zone?

Great-looking terrain! unfortunately, prepainted&prebuilt puts your stuff outside my budget for the foreseeable future. Transatlantic shipping is a killer for MDF products... :ohdear:

Just... wow...

That is absolutely outstanding.

Is there absolutely no way you'll sell them not painted and not assembled? The current price point is beyond my ability... :(

And you said those come fully decorated? :?:

For some reason, the Restricted Area sign really makes the model. (Hint for the next one: "Restricted Area - Use of Deadly Force Authorized" sign :jihad: )

@Section9: These particular rooms do come with the restricted signs and ID numbers on the wall. Other currently assembled buildings are decoration-less. That, however, can be fixed. Will keep your suggestion for future top secret military base project.

Well, everything looks beautiful.

But, in a game of Infinity, it could be difficult spotting the miniatures inside the structures, and evaluate the lines of sight....

I see these scenics (1 or 2 walls only) more appropriate for a diorama, from Infinity to even Gundam plamo.

If you make a large production run and want to sell some, let me know...

Here is the first scenery project build for Infinity games. Created as a birthday gift for a local wargaming shop with the help of my kids. Made from various materials and different technologies. It is a recreation of the shop's interior with some sci-fi add-ons. Intended for close encounters on the tabletop.

You could reply the whole building itself in micro size, and put it on the gaming table inside the "game shop" building above! XD
