It's pretty similar.

The biggest thing to remember is that you aren't painting a full tartan. You're just painting what looks like a tartan. Thinned paints and nice long-bristled liner brushes are your friends for this, like my 10/0 Loew-Cornell 7050 script brush. Bristles on that little bitty thing are about as long as my W&N S7 #3 (or a GW Large Brush), but it's tight enough that I can paint shoulderboards or rank patches on 15mm figures.

like double thin line od one color inside biger square made of other color
