Nice, man. Your colours are so clean. I have to say, I wasnt a fan of the cadmus (reminded me too much of a twilek from starwars), but now seeing what you did with it... im going to buy two.

Thanks for all the kind, encouraging and humbling works, it's much appreciated. It's a shame that the world is so big that we can't all sit down for a game and a chat about painting (and a beer).

Still painting and collecting my PanO and CA, but who can stick with just two armies? So Yu Jing here I come.
I've been struggling with colours for my first Yu Jing miniature, I think I've repainted his head (I always start with the head to get the miniature's character) about 5 times until I was happy with it. I love this mini, both the pose and design, so as a result it was a pleasure to paint once I was happy with the scheme.
Next on the painting table is a converted Yu Jing Spec Op.

Impressive as always.

What's your recipe for the brownish yellow?

Great next Tanath/Yoshi will be in here as well ruining painting for all of us.
Ohh and I didn't say it earlier I love that Invincible and Gav is wrong it doesn't need anything else done to it. The scheme is complete awesome sauce.

Thanks for the comments.
The recipe for the armour colour is a base of VMC orange brown with a wash of GW agrax earthshade, it's then highlighted up with P3 ember orange.
Daniel, thanks for the support. Gav's a good friend of mine and also a great painter too and we often bounce painting suggestions off each other. At one stage I was going to paint the shotgun with an olive body but decided against it. I will be using field grey on the fatigues of the Yu Jing that aren't fully armoured up to add a different tone.

Yeah I've spoken to him in length and seen his work. You all disgust me with your skills sets and time to paint.
Hopefully I'll have some time to take one of his Airbrushing classes in the future and to start to pick the quality of my work up from there.

What a lovely group of minis! The Shasvastii are the business! I love the little skin spots, and the egg the seed soldiers are hatching from. How did you pull the egg effects off, complete with viscera?

That Avatar is amazing, so sinister. The grading of colours on the armour is excellent and the 'gems' are too.

Well another Yu Jing mini finished, this time it's the Gui Feng Spec Op, I did a minor conversion to it by removing the pistol and knife and replacing it with a combi-rifle from a Celestial Guard mini. I just wanted the miniature to be holding his main weapon and I think the pose suited the swap (also it's easier to proxy for another basic model). I'm really enjoying painting the Yu Jing, so next in line is the Hsien

QFT!
I think I'm going to go burn my paints and brushes now, those paintjobs make me feel seriously inadequate.

Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate them.
Don't be too hard on yourself Section 9, I'm a slow painter so I'll probably have a fully painted usable Yu Jing force ready for my son to play with for his 18th birthday......he's 2 now! I bet you've got a whole lot more miniatures painted than me.

You always amaze and astonish sir! While I am not going to burn my brushes I think that they need a "stern talking to."
