Quase paints up Haqqislam

So, last November I decided I would start with Infinity, and my choice fell upon the Haqqislam as my army (mainly because of the ûbercool biker figurines, I must admit).

Completely in-line with my regular behaviour, I dived in headlong without consulting any rulebook, forum or anything, and I started by buying a box of irregulars (d'oh!). Why? Because of the inherent coolness of thses figs;

This is what my first four figs (Muttawi'ah) looked like :

And a close-up of their bases :

After that I picked up a Hassassin Bahram box (completely unaware of sectorial rules, I thought I was simply getting a starterbox... sigh!)

And I scored this nice female soldier :
Image

Then, again reather unaware that it would be difficult to field them all in one single game, I got me the Odalisques...

And all together, posing for the family picture :

I have painted up some more figs in the meantime, but I need to find the time to capture them on camera.
Updates will follow soon....

I like how the common colors make them look like a cohesive unit.

Nice minis. Don't forget that Infinity is very proxy friendly so you should get some use out of your minis. I'd happily run the Daylami as Ghulams for example

I wasn't sure about the Muttis when they came out, yours look great. Might just have to get myself a box

Looking good!

while you might not be able to field all of those troops together, you sure can field MOST of them in the same army. I actually bought the Odalisques to use as NPC bodyguards, since my Haqq forces are all Hassassin.

Thanks for the kind feedbacks guys!

And indeed, that's exactly what I've been doing : my Daylami have quickly become my Ghulam, with the Panzerfaust as a favourite.
I've taken the time to take pictures of all I have painted up since.
Here's some Ghulam warriors :
Image
And a Tuareg Hacker :
Image
As a part of a second hand lot I bought, I got a second Lasiq Sniper. So I cut off her hood, removed the stone she's standing on and added greenstuff to turn her into a Tuareg Sniper (I've played both now, and I like the TO capability of the Tuareg, but I dearly dearly miss the Viral part of the Lasiq. I still haven't decided which I like best...
Here's both snipers together so you can compare :

Image
And here's Mono Mr Beg, whom I've been using as a 'normal' Kum Rider up until now:
Image
Image
Tarik and a Khawarij (I finished these two and the next fig last tuesday
Image
And lastly a Hunzakut.

All of my Haqq in one single piccie :

Up next on the painting table : a Ghulam with HMG a Djanbazan and the Authorized Bounty Hunter.

Is it just me or does it seem to anyone else that you are having FUN painting these guys? I love the character you are giving them! Keep up the good work!

Cool minis, and yep, seems like you are having fun. Which is great, given the fact how few gamers nowadays seem to like painting their stuff and enjoying the painting aspect in general. :)

One question though: the graffiti - where did you get those decals?

Thanks!

I am indeed having a blast painting these things up.

And I have a rule for myself : if it isn't painted, I'm not playing it.
So that keeps me motivated to paint.

Also, now that I have 2 kids, a wife, a doggie and a 3-hour commute per day, playing time is sparse so my hobby-focus has automatically shifted to the painting side of things...

For the Graffiti, a couple of them are indeed decals from Micro Art studios, but most of them come from Google-image-search, printed on recycled paper, cut out with scissors and glued into place with PVA glue.
You can see a lot more examples in my terrain thread

Interesting, so some are not even decals at all? Thanks for the advice. I'll also check out your terrain thread.

Lol even better, most of the graffitis aren't decals ;)
The tags are done with a very fine permanent marker

And I finished another Ghulam yesterday evening, this time with a HMG.

I'm curious to see how he'll fare in battle (well; most probably, as per the universal law, the last fig I paint dies the first  so he won't be performing very well I guess)

I took advantage in this fig to re-use the rock which I omitted from my Tuareg Snipers' base

I'm almost running out of infinity figs now...
Still the Bounty Hunter to do, Valerya Gromoz and a Djanbazan.
Hmm time to start-a-thinking on what to add next to my collection... A doctor, or some remotes? Choices, choices :?

Again, very nice work.

A permanent marker for the tags - dammit, that's way easier then what I thought might work. Gonna break out the copic markers for tagging my buildings. :)

My pleasure, glad I could make your life easier.

From a personal experience, practise your tags on a piece of paper first.
Permanent markers really aren't easy at all to correct mistakes over with acryllic paint; lots of swearwords not easy at all even, as my wife can attest after she overheard my first go at adding tags to my scenery.

Well, in the meantime I have decided, went for the easy way out and ordered the support pack (Doc and Engineer) and the remotes box.

But that's not the reason I'm replying to my thread... this is the real reason : time for a small update.
Not really Haqq guys, but mercenaries this time :

A Hacker and the Authorised Bounty Hunter (he might not be finished for the painting competition, but he sure is tabletop-worthy in my eyes, and I am very tempted to use him in my campaign-game of next week...

Pretty vibrant colours you have there, especially with the bounty hunter.

Nice mushroom graffiti.

And I've made some more troopers.

The twins to help me out causing mayhem and destruction @ the other side of the boared in turn 1...

Together with mr Beg

And one Djanbazan, because I've encountered just about enough camo-markers deployed against me lately...

Well, that's about exactly what the girrrrls did. Turn 1 they wreaked havoc and destruction upon the Nomads... They didn't even stand a chance...

Anyways, gone are the days of removing a fig from the battlefield, just because they suffered a wound because **drumroll** I've finally gotten myself a Ghulam doc, with Nasmats to help her out...

Also, seen as how well my Tuareg Hacker has been performing these last couple of games (disabling the opposing hacker LT through his own repeater, taking possession of a TAG carrying the third and last of the objective counters, keeping an Iguana well away from the action simply by maybe being hidden somewhere in the vicinity, ...) I decied to give him some company in the form of an Al'Hawwa hacker

And all of the newbies together :

And the next installment, after a small glitch of missing parts, expertly, quickly and very customer-friendly solved by Corvus Belli's after-sales team, I can present to you my very first agressive Remotes
Image

Zoom out and we go back in time... Back to november 2014 where we zoom back in to Quase unsuspectingly receiving his very first demo at a wargames convention in Antwerp from Warcor Dieldien (aka Dani).
"It's a fun low-budget skirmish game... you only need like 15 figs or so to make a good warband"
Re-zoom out and this time we move forwards into time, back to the moment you are reading this post and zoom back in to see the image hereunder:

:?

That, and I've just placed an order for 11 more Haqq figs @ my LGS (amongst which an Iguana for my Qapu Khalqi)

You only *need* 15 figures or so. You will *WANT* a whole lot more.

Somemore mechanical additions to my Haqq force

Some Kameel Remotes, to keep my Panzerfaust in business a while longer , or to provide a Total Reaction :

And then a small one, to be able to field a more than decent support to my Qapu-sectorial :

Iguana + Pilot

Thanks for the friendly, encouraging comments!
Icchan wrote:Lovely color scheme.

I wanted my mechanized troops to be different from my infantry, but they still needed to fit in with the rest of the warband.
So I inverted my normal colour scheme for my Haqq (lots of green for the clothes, lots of orange for the armour and a smattering of broken white here and there as counterpoints in the colours) into lots of white (less broken, more clean as it are metal platings) with smaller details of green and orange.
The colour of the weapons remained unchanged (grey with metal details)
el_presidente wrote:I wonder what the Iguana is looking at :P

Knowing my luck with the most recent figs I painted up, he's probably looking at the enemy trooper with the Panzerfaust who just yelled "Ease!"
